Defined vs Open Splenic Center
Defined (Colored In)
With a defined Splenic Center, you have a consistent connection to your body's survival intelligence. You have a reliable sense of what is safe and what is not — physically, emotionally, and energetically. This instinct operates in the background of your awareness at all times.
Your immune system tends to be robust and consistent. You have a steady baseline of physical wellbeing, and your body is quick to alert you when something is off — whether that is a food that does not agree with you, an environment that is not healthy, or a person whose energy feels wrong.
The defined Spleen gives you access to spontaneous knowing. You may not be able to explain why you feel a certain way about something, but your body knows. This is the center of "I just knew" — the quiet confidence of instinctual awareness.
Open (White)
With an open Splenic Center, you do not have a fixed connection to your body's survival instincts. Your sense of what is safe, healthy, and correct fluctuates based on who you are with. In the presence of someone with a defined Spleen, you may feel a heightened sense of intuition and wellbeing. When alone, that clarity fades.
You amplify the fears and instincts of those around you. This can make you highly attuned to others' physical and emotional states — but it can also make you hold onto things (relationships, jobs, habits) out of amplified fear rather than genuine intuition.
The open Spleen can create a pattern of clinging to what feels safe in the moment, even when it is no longer correct. Because your sense of safety is inconsistent, you may stay in unhealthy situations simply because leaving feels more frightening than staying.
Gates in the Splenic Center
The gate of depth and solution; the intuitive recognition of inadequacy that drives the search for deep competence.
The gate of intuitive clarity; the most intuitive gate in the entire bodygraph, providing instant knowing in the present moment.
The gate of alertness and pattern recognition; the instinctive ability to smell out what will succeed or fail.
The gate of values and responsibility; the instinct to protect and uphold the laws and values that sustain community.
The gate of continuity and ambition; the instinct for what has lasting value and what is a passing trend.
The gate of the game player and risk-taker; the intuitive sense that life is worth the struggle.
The gate of correction and judgment; the instinct to identify and fix patterns that are not working.
Not-Self Theme of the Open Splenic Center
The not-self theme of the open Splenic Center is holding on to what is not good for you. You cling to relationships, jobs, habits, and environments long after they have stopped serving you, because the amplified fear of the unknown outweighs the reality of the present situation.
You may struggle with health anxiety — amplifying physical symptoms and fears about wellbeing because your open Spleen picks up and magnifies the survival concerns of others. What feels like your own anxiety about health may actually be conditioned input from the people around you.
The open Spleen can also create a false sense of invulnerability when around defined Splenic beings. You feel their immune strength and mistake it for your own, leading you to neglect your health or take risks your body is not equipped for.
The Wisdom of the Open Splenic Center
The wisdom of the open Splenic Center is the ability to let go. Over time, you develop an extraordinary capacity to release what is no longer serving you — because you learn, through experience, that clinging to false security is more painful than the temporary uncertainty of letting go.
You become deeply wise about health and survival — able to sense the wellness (or lack thereof) in others with remarkable accuracy. This makes you an exceptional healer, therapist, or health practitioner because you can feel what others are experiencing in their bodies.
The open Spleen, operating correctly, is not attached to feeling safe all the time. It understands that true safety comes from alignment with your design, not from external circumstances. This wisdom allows you to take correct risks and embrace necessary change.
Health Connections
The Splenic Center is directly connected to the immune system — the lymphatic system, spleen, and T-cells. It is the most health-related center in the bodygraph. Your relationship with this center directly affects your physical resilience and capacity to fight illness.
People with an open Splenic Center may have a more variable immune response. Your immune system can be amplified in the presence of defined Spleens but may feel compromised when you are alone or depleted. Extra attention to immune health — sleep, nutrition, stress management — is important.
For both defined and open Spleens, ignoring instinctual signals about health has consequences. If your body tells you something is wrong — a food does not sit right, an environment feels toxic, you need rest — honoring that signal is the foundation of splenic health.
